Growing up on 120 Chesterfield Street, City B's was part of my neighborhood. I rode my bike to have a cheeseburger or chili dog... then went to Woolworths for a coke float and then to Aiken Drug for candy. From there, I would go to the bridge on Laurens and go to the railroad track. In those days, hobos were friendly folks under the bridge. I would walk for hours in Hitchcock Woods...belly full and no cares in the world!!!! I have an old postcard from the 60's...in the photo is the original Aiken Billard's sign...I remember the cook...still present in spirit life today, keeping watch, making sure all are/were satisfied! Love the Amen Corner!!! What grand Aikenites and Winter Visitors remain in such a landmark of our "little town". BEST WISHES IN THE HALLMARK OF OUR NOW THRIVING CITY....STILL THE BEST CHEESE BURGERS AND HOTDOGS IN TOWN! sincerely ~ jeanne b.
